Thimble Summer (AGES 4-6)

Journey back in time to a small Wisconsin farm in the 1930s. The Great Depression has affected many, a drought is discouraging farmers, and the temperature is over 100 degrees. Garnet Linden is a spunky 9 1/2 year old girl living with her parents and two brothers. She happens to find a silver thimble in a creek and decides it's "magical". From then on, her summer is full of adventures on the farm, with friends, and at the county fair. This book may not be on the typical "classics" list, but it is a very sweet story showing the small-town charm of a farming community, the beauty of a simple life, the gift of siblings, and the adventure that can come in the unlikeliest of places.

If you want to order a box for more than one child and they're in different age groups, just pick one of these Thimble Summer listings (doesn't matter if it's the 4-6 or the 7-10 one), select the amount of children you're purchasing the box for, and then type the ages of your children into the Notes section during checkout. (ie: 2 kids 4-6, 1 child 7-10) That way I can know which Wonder Books to include.
